Hasil studi yang melibatkan 150 peserta dari sejumlah instansi pemerintah dan swasta serta lembaga swadaya masyarakat itu tidak bertujuan mengubah regulasi gambut yang ada meski gambut dituding sebagai salah satu penyumbang emisi terbesar.
”Gambut idealnya tidak diapa- apakan, tidak boleh diolah. Namun, kita harus realistis. Masyarakat harus tetap diberi kesempatan yang mengarah pada penanganan gambut yang semestinya,” kata Ketua Harian Dewan Nasional Perubahan Iklim (DNPI) Rachmat Witoelar, Senin (6/9), dalam konferensi pers di Jakarta.
